There are however, a few issues that I do not understand;
- How they could interpret the clause; Section 6, subsection (a) (in earlier post on Nov. 17th), as a fee must be paid to the Foundation. My interpretation would simply be that the Clubs must participate in fund raising activities of the Foundation, just as it is worded.
- There is still no reference to an amount that must be paid, in the apology letter. We still have no written policy.
- There was a strange issue about the date of the letter. the letter was dated on October 22nd, soon after FLC and well before my blog post about the Foundation on November 17th. But, the letter was postmarked at a private postage machine on November 18th. then marked at the Post Office on November 19th. I just found this very odd, and wonder if they want the impression that the letter was done earlier than reality
The Foundation has made a good first step, we must now watch the following actions and put all our support behind our Foundation.
I agree with pretty much everything that has been said here. However, while it was a classy act by the foundation to send out a letter apologizing for the snafu, I personally believe that it would be a good idea if, at some time in the near future at a district function there was a verbal apology.
ReplyDeleteI know that it would mean a great deal to me to hear it aloud and believe that others might feel the same way. This would probably heal some of the wounds that were caused by this and hopefully bring the foundation back to the same level of prestige as it was before. This in turn will keep the foundation front and center in members minds when it comes to donations.
I am not sure what has happened. We have received this apology letter, but I have talked to a couple other Clubs who have never seen this letter...lost in the shuffle? didn't receive? I am not sure , can someone help? Does anyone know if letters were sent to all Clubs, or not?
